Is Chocolate is toxic for my dog?

Yes, it depends on various facts, like the type of chocolate, amount consumed by your dog and the size of your dog. A large amount of chocolate and cocoa products are enough to kill your dog.

Why no to chocolate?

  • There is toxic substance present in chocolate called theobromine. In humans, this substance can easily be digested but in case of dogs, this process is very slow, allowing it to build toxic substance in their system.
  • A small amount of chocolate probably will only give you an upset stomach or diarrhea.
  • A bigger dog can consume more chocolate than a smaller one before suffering ill effects.
  • A large amount of theobromine produces muscle tremors, an irregular heartbeat, internal bleeding or a heart attack.
